I thought i would upload this version of the piece with the tempo that a Passacaille requires, since everyone plays it very slowly

Andres Segovia - Minuets by Fernando Sor
Andres Segovia plays three minuets by Fernando Sor. The first belongs to the op. 32. The third to the op. 11. I don't really know where the second one comes from. The back cover of the album says it comes from the op 32, but i don't see it anywhere. I have looked for this little piece all around but i have no idea where it belongs. It is possible that it was written by Ponce in the neoclassical...

Manuel Ponce - Sonata Mexicana (Andres Segovia)
Manuel Ponce's Sonata Mexicana played by Andres Segovia. Manuel Ponce wrote this music in 1925 and it was the first time he ever wrote music for the guitar (more specifically, the third movement is the first thing he ever wrote for guitar). This music is based on Mexican folklore and many melodies belong to the mexican musical culture. As the coming events showed, later on Manuel Ponce became t...

This version of Bela Bartok's work was recorded in 1963 in Rudolfinum Estudio, Praga, with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, under the conduction of Karel Ancerl. For me, personally, i think it's the best version of this incredible music. Enjoy... 00:00 - Introduzione. Andante non troppo . 09:45 - Giuoco delle coppie. Allegretto scherzando. 16:55 - Elegia. Andante, non troppo. 24:35 - Intermezz...

I always loved this recording of Ponce by Segovia. Used to listen to the album many years ago.
Wish I knew who the Tenor sax player is on the record. What magnificent licks.
Andre Ekyan
Ekyan played mostly alto.
I saw Segovia when he was 80 at Philharmonic Hall. The best concert I have ever seen.
To add to my previous comment. I have now listened to this sufficiently to become familiar with it and to start to appreciate its beauty and subtleties. I have to admit that in the YT era, I rarely listen properly to new pieces and often fail to fully assimilate them - as I used to do in the days of just repeated listening to vinyl, tapes etc. For some reason this one keeps popping up, I like the cover art and click on it a lot. For any new listeners, persevere; this really re-pays repeated study. It's a masterpiece, perfectly played here IMO.
Dos grandes maestros
Unreal
Segovia rocks !!!!
Qué placer escuchar al Maestro tocando Adelita. Bravo y Gracias!🎼❤️

Thank you for this

great
Straordinario
I would like to say. It's all about the beauty of the sound with a charming smile.
My guitar hero
Never heard or even come across this before! Segovia and Ponce - a great pairing. This type of music is really good for the guitar, but sounds rather hard to play, [to get it to flow] for the average player. I wish I could examine and try playing the instrument he used on this recording - even for two minutes.
In the late 1960s, as a child, I was given a pile of second-hand classical music records, of which this was one. Over the last few years I have listened to various perfomances of Concerto for Orchestra, hoping to find that particular performance. And today my search is over. Without question, this is it. I knew that I would recognise it when I found it, and I knew within half a dozen bars at the start that this was 'the one' Thank you! And you are right, it really is th best interpretation of the piece that there is.
Those who might want to judge harshly the Maestro's technical prowess need to listen to this recording. Segovia perfectly expresses the proud nobility of this music.
Who are they.??yawn
I can listen to great contemporary classical guitarists all day, but whenever I return to Segovia I feel like I'm back to a home I thought I'd lost, back to dreams and infinite longings. Why mince words...there's just nothing like him. The soulfulness and the sound of his guitar are his and his alone.
Thanks for this. I love Ponce’s music, but had not heard this work.
Amazing technique. His patients leaves nothing incomplete. Every note is a forensic detail interpreted to absolute perfection. Most excellent.
Contemporary classical guitarists sound like typewriters compared to him.
much thanks for uploading this, the piano version, and split into parts. exactly what i wanted.
Segovia's playing is amazing. My left hand gets tired when playing this piece
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 From a mad keen 76yo Aussie fan.
RIP the great Yepes .
As a classical guitar student, I found this work to be my favorite guitar composition. Segovia's interpretation is flawless.
The second one is Minuet in G, Op. 3, #2. Easy to see how the typo as "Op. 32" would have occurred on the album cover. This one is unusual in that there's a version of it published under Sor's name for the piano (Paris, kept at the Bibliotheque de l'Arsenal); it's uncertain which version is the adaptation and which is the original concept.
Absolutelly beautiful! A brilliant playing guitar and fantastic interpretation. Respecte! Thumbs up!!!
I really love Sor's op. 32, and Segovia plays it so well here. Thank you for this upload!
eccezionale
75 years old! This is really amazing and beauty; thank's for this jewel

GRACIAS por COMPARTIR!! like 150
I'm of the opinion that the recordings of Segovia are not only a Spanish national treasure, but a global one. And as such, should be shared universally. I especially love the "better" recordings of this era (60s) as the technology had improved to where the Master's tone could be best displayed. But nothing compared to seeing him live, which I was twice fortunate enough to do!
Robert Hunt this is mexican music. not spanish
@@poleninaki2608 Segovia was Spanish.
Did Segovia publish this version? I am afraid i ask a stupid question...
Why would it be a stupid question? But no, i don't really know whether he published his version or not. I suppose he did, but i don't know where it is. However i have the score for the original version which i can send to you if you want.
Oh, thank you Julian, but i found it already myself, in my own library! So no need, thanks! Wonderful playing on that nosy, silky Ramirez. Looking forward to put the score in front of me! Thanks for sharing and inspiration.
JulianJules Could you send it to me? I haven't found it :(
